Audio/Video Production

Coach Greg Funderburk, RM 105

Grade Placement: 9-12 / 1 Credit

Careers in audio and video technology and film production span all aspects of the audio/video communications industry. Within this context, in addition to developing technical knowledge and skills needed for success in the Arts, Audio/Video Technology, and Communications career cluster, students will be expected to develop an understanding of the industry with a focus on pre-production, production, and post- production audio and video activities.

Software training will include Adobe Premiere CS6, Adobe Encoder, and other Microsoft programs.

This is a project-based class. Skills will be taught at the beginning of each project to ensure the best end result.

Principles of Audio, Video and Communication

   *  You DO NOT have to be experienced in video, photography, or video editing. You will learn how to do each.

  • Be creative! Do not be afraid to try new things.
  • Ask questions.
• Complete assignments and projects on time. • Take pride in your work and have fun!

Note: All students will be given their own 8G SD card for their class work. These cards will be kept in the classroom to ensure the integrity of each student’s work. All projects and assignments must be completed by yourself and in class. Work will be kept and saved to each assigned student SD card. Opportunities to purchase student SD cards will be discussed toward the end of the year.

Some of the assignments and projects for this year include but are not limited to the following:

  • Public Service Announcements
  • TSA (Technology Student Association) Film Project
  • Broadcasting
  • Short Films
  • Music Videos

Projects – 60%
Skills/Practice/Quizzes – 40%
