Swim Team Places 3rd @ Waco Midway

Medals were received by Tory Johnston 2nd in 200 IM, Sarah Saunders 2nd in 50 Free Style & 3rd in 100 Free Style, Victoria Childress 3rd in 200 Free, Spencer Saunders 3rd in 100 Breast Stroke, Zach Tassin 3rd in the 100 Back Stroke, Boys Medley Relay 3rd, and the Boys 200 A Relay 3rd.

District Cross Country

The CHS Boy’s Cross Country Team took first place at Thursday’s District 8-4A meet held at CHS. Sophomore Luis Suaste led throughout the three-mile race, posting a time of 16:15. Teammate Reagan Mead finished in second place witha time of 16:30.
This is the second consecutive year for the Jackets to win the District championship. They will travel to Lubbock next week to compete at the UIL Region I Championships. The team members are Reagan Mead, Austin Tarver, Luis Suaste, Clay Reynolds, Landon Beauchamp, Esteban Ramirez and Fabian Razo.

Lady Jacket Taya Berry placed tenth individually and will represent CHS at the
November 2nd, Region I Championships in Lubbock. Berry, who is a junior, was
just over the 20 minute mark with her time in the three-mile race.

National Merit Commended Scholars

Cleburne High School seniors Madeline Steck and Seth Anderson, who are 2014 National Merit Scholar Commended Students were honored at the October School Board Meeting.
Anderson and Steck are among the 34,000 high performers nationwide to achieve the Commended recognition among the 1.5 million students who participated in the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test last October

Senior Baby Ads can be purchased at CHS. Prices range from $60-$225 depending on size. Cash or checks payable to Cleburne High School will be accepted. Order deadline is January 31, 2014.

Mentors Needed

We are looking for 150 community members to serve as volunteer mentors. These Jacket Talk Mentors would be paired up with a faculty member and meet once a month with 10-15 students during Jacket Talk. Curriculum and activities will be provided.

If you have ONE hour a month, want to help support, challenge, and prepare ALL students for tomorrow, please consider volunteering at CHS to help mentor with the new Jacket Talk program.
