CHS Youth in Government District Competitors Advancing to State

For the first time in close to 20 years, Cleburne High School has competed
in YMCA Youth and Government, in which every team member qualified for
advancement to state. Cleburne’s Youth and Government  competitors are:  Tarek Arouse, Noelle Mitchell, Logan Herring, Caleb Barkman, Arturo Rolon, Gerardo Lozano and faculty sponsor Matt
Moulden.

At the Fort Worth Conference, Rolon and Arouse were district runner-ups in the Appellate Trial event, in which Barkman also qualified for state individually. Both Lozano and Herring presented bills in Legislative Competition in which they were chosen to continue on to the state contest, which will take place at the State Capitol in January. Griffith conducted opening and closing ceremonies
at the conference as the 2017-2018 Texas Youth and Government Chief State Justice.
